Hands of the Hills, Inc., originally founded by Steve and Duangporn Dunning, began as a home based business in 1989. Over the years it grew to include a retail store and wholesale showroom in Mercer Island, Washington and a bead kit manufacturing division in Seattle, Washington. In 2002, the bead kit division was closed and the retail store sold to Theresa Mertens. Hands of the Hills, Inc. is now a wholesale company which continues to serve an international clientele of more than 2,500 designers, collectors and bead stores, through a mail order catalog, online shopping catalog, a walk-in showroom in Mercer Island, Washington, and a full schedule of Gem, Bead and trade shows.
Steve was originally an internal medicine physician practicing full time until 1997 when he took what he thought would be a one year sabbatical and still hasn't gone back! Hands of the Hills, Inc., allows him an opportunity to travel overseas and buy beads directly and indulge his interests in history, anthropology and foreign languages.
